… studied politics science, history, national economy and law at the universities of Hamburg, Cologne, Bonn as well as Buenos Aires. In 1971 her study ended and she followed Prof. Dr. Karl Dietrich Bracher in Bonn. In 1975 she did a doctorate in the causes of the failed re-democratization of Argentina after the fall Juan Domingo Peróns in 1955. In between she worked several years in South America, among other things as a scholarship holder of the German Academic Exchange Service. From 1977 to 1980 she was an assistant of Prof. Bracher and took up the teaching at the university of Bonn. On the 1st of June, 1980 she entered the news editorial staff of the FAZ. From 1988 to 1993 she reported for the FAZ from Mexico, Central America, the Caribbean and Venezuela. In May, 1993 she took over the management of the Ibero Lateinamerikanischen programmes of the German wave in Cologne, a year later she became an editor in chief of all foreign linguistic programmes DW. Since the second half of the nineties Dr. Hildegard Stausberg is a teacher in the institutes of political sciences of the universities of Cologne and Bonn. 1st of August, 1999 she went to Berlin as the department leader’s foreign affairs of WELT with which she collaborates since 2001 as a diplomatic correspondent. In an honourary capacity she is chairpersons of the Cologne press club since 2003. For many years their special engagement is known for the improvement of the German Latin-American relations – among other things in the board of directors of the German-Mexican society (DMG) and the German-Brazilian society (DBG). Moreover, since summer 2011 she is chairpersons of her initiated conveyor association of the town partnership Rio de Janeiro-Cologne inc. you projects to the Kajo Schommer-piano conveyor price founded by her.

…is a Brazilian journalist, specialist in Communication and Marketing, and a Master student of the International Media Studies program at Deutsche Welle Akademie. With more than 10 years of experience, she led the media coverage project related to the partnership between Cologne and Rio de Janeiro.
Her thematic Input refers to the media coverage related to the implementation of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) at a local lebel through international partnerships, having as an example the partnership established between the cities of Cologne (Germany) and Rio de Janeiro (Brazil).
