Mark Daniel

…Mark Daniel, born in 1967, is working as an editor at the Leipziger Volkszeitung since 1993. He writes about cultural as well as about social topics. This year he published a serial of six episodes about the experiment, how hard it is to avoid plastic waste in everyday life und how to live more consciously. He also writes about the movement in society to concentrate more on food that is produced in the region. One of the reasons: environment protection.
The LVZ-Serial „Living without plastic“ was based on the trial by myself, how easy it is to avoid plastic waste. The experience was nearly completely positive, because if you are aware of changing your consuming behaviour, it is very easy to handle.

Jurica Gudelj

Jurica Gudelj

…I am Jurica Gudelj, editor in chief of the portal Dnevnik.ba from Mostar, one of the most visited Internet news portals in Bosnia and Herzegovina. I am holding that position since five years ago, and I am also a co-owner of the company Dnevnik Media, publisher of the portal.
I am a journalist last 15 years. During my studies of journalism at the Mostar University (graduated 2008), I worked with “Nezavisne” daily from Banja Luka (2004 – 2008), and later with “Oslobođenje” daily from Sarajevo (2008 – 2014).
After “Oslobođenje” I become editor in chief of the portal Dnevnik.ba, where I am working now. In the meantime, I was editor and director of the political talk-show „Weekly Mirror” at the local TV station “Naša TV”.
Due to my current position, I am dealing primarily with political topics, since my country is more than 25 years in prolonged, perpetual political crisis, what is unfortunately pushing all the other topics in a shadow.
Despite this, I am trying to cover relevant problems related to sustainable development, because I am highly aware of their crucial importance for our citizens. I am also aware that as long as the key political disputes are not resolved, there is a small chance that sustainable development comes at a centre of public focus. I would like very much to contribute to change of such a situation.
