Michael Meyen is full professor of communication at the University of Munich. His research interests include media freedom, media systems, media discourses, the history of media and communication and the history of communication research. In the 1980s he worked as a journalist in the GDR and became a journalism student at the University of Leipzig, the country’s one and only training center for future party journalists. As a researcher, he analyzed both GDR media and the GDR’s representation in current media.

Anke Fiedler is since May 2018 the project leader oft he EU funded project RePAST at the Department of Communication Studies and Media Research at the University of Munich. Since 2016 Anke Fiedler is an associate scientist at the Université libre de Bruxelles (ULB).

2006 till 2008 she worked at the UNESCO Iraq office in Amman. Anke Fiedler conducted several curse-related internships and worked as freelancer in journalism and advertising, as well as for UNESCO in Paris and Bujumbura.
